Bio

Lindsay Wilcox-Reid is an advanced dressage rider, biomechanics coach and founder of Equipilates™, based in Derbyshire. She specialises in horse–rider interaction, combining classical training with evidence-based principles from Equitation Science International.

Lindsay has been working with learning theory and ESI principles since 2011, when she integrated them into her Equipilates™ teacher training programmes (guest lecturer Lisa Ashton). She has continued to develop her application of these principles through extensive study with Manuela McLean, both online and during UK clinics.

Her long-standing commitment to evidence-based practice led to an invitation from Dr Andrew McLean to present at the International Society for Equitation Science Conference in 2016 on the practical application of rider biomechanics.

A twice-published author and international presenter, Lindsay works with both horses and riders to improve performance, retrain movement patterns and support rehabilitation. Her approach combines in-hand work, ridden training and rider conditioning to address the root causes of issues such as asymmetry, loss of balance, inconsistent contact and training breakdowns.

Based at her Equipilates™ studio, she delivers bespoke coaching using a blend of mechanical horse work, Pilates-based conditioning and practical horse training, supporting riders from post-injury return to advanced dressage performance. She also trains and competes her own horses, and horses for owners, through the levels, with two at FEI Inter I and another on track for Grand Prix.

Lindsay is known for her clear, practical coaching style, using simple explanations and precise feedback to create lasting change. Her approach is grounded in one principle; train the rider; transform the horse.
