Clodagh started to ride at the age of seven, in a local riding school, where she later became a helper and spent her weekends and holidays helping with are variety of equestrian activities.

When she finished her leaving cert, she  started to train for her British Horse Society (BHS)  exams, and while training she competed in the local riding club, in show jumping, dressage and one day eventing. Clodagh trained for the  BHS  exams, and in 1995 achieved the final exam she wished to achieve, the  BHSII.

In 1996, Clodagh moved to Festina Lente Equestrian Learning Centre in Wicklow, where she worked with a staff who were passionate about not only human wellbeing, but a staff who put a lot of emphasis on horse welfare. Clodagh always had a passion for the welfare of all animals, including horses. Clodagh is an experienced and empathetic coach and rider, who is passionate about horse welfare and ethical horse training.

Clodagh  first met Dr Andrew McLean at a conference in Ireland, and later again at a conference in Tiwan.  She found his knowledge and understating of animal behaviour and learning theory very encouraging This is what inspired her to become more informed in the principles and techniques in Equitation Science.

Now, as a graduate of Equitation Science, Clodagh is looking forward to continue coaching students and training horses, under the principles and techniques of learning theory, ethology and biomechanics.
