Bio

Born in The Netherlands, Charlot Dekkers moved to Australia in 1999, where she began her equestrian journey with Andrew and Manuela McLean at the AEBC in Clonbinane. Over the course of nearly 10 years, she developed her expertise and became a senior rider and trainer at the centre.

With 25 years of experience as a rider, coach, and trainer, Charlot holds a Diploma of Equitation Science and is committed to helping people build a stronger, more harmonious relationship with their horses. Her teaching approach is holistic, focused on ethical, kind, and easily understandable methods that prioritize horse welfare at every step.

Charlot offers both in-hand and ridden sessions, concentrating on flatwork, strength, and coordination. She often incorporates poles and small jumps to further enhance horses’ physical development. Her lessons are designed to create a safe, encouraging environment, making her a perfect fit for young or nervous horses and their riders of all levels.

In addition to general training, Charlot specialises in handling skills, addressing specific issues with vet and farrier treatments, and floating to ensure smooth and stress-free experiences for both horses and owners.

Charlot is based at ESI (Basinghall) in Tuerong.
