Bio

After training for British Horse Society qualifications in the UK, Julie was first introduced to equitation science at one of Andrew’s clinics in Dunedin, New Zealand, in 2005. She was immediately fascinated and went on to obtain obtained the ESI Certificate and Associate Diploma qualifications. She has subsequently  returned to Australia several times to train with Dr Andrew McLean to further her understanding and skills in backing, training and retraining horses.

Although she is based in the UK, she also teaches ES in New Zealand, Kenya, South Africa and Swaziland, specialising in showing the effectiveness of the techniques in producing relaxed horses that feel better and safer to handle, load and ride.  Successful behaviour modification in horses is a large part of Julie’s work, including retraining safari horses and polo ponies while in Africa.

Her teaching background ensures that she can impart the principles and practice of learning theory to her students, so that they clearly understand why and how equitation science is so effective and so that improvements can be independently maintained.

Julie has built a reputation for providing a very high level of customer service, and client satisfaction is a genuine high priority for her. Julie ensures clients enjoy their learning experience and that each training session they have results in new skills for them and improved behaviour in the horse.

Julie is available worldwide throughout the year to help all riders, from nervous novice to professional, to be safer and happier around and on their horse, to correctly train early handling,  backing, re-backing, to resolve behavioural issues and improve dressage, show jumping and eventing results.
