Bio

Kerstin Keller is based in Germany and in the South of France. Her work focuses on helping riders create a clearer, safer and more ethical horse-rider partnership.

She combines Equitation Science, learning theory, ethology, biomechanics, classical dressage, Équitation Éthologique and mental training for riders. A central part of her teaching is helping riders understand how horses learn, how human behaviour affects the horse, and how clear, consistent training can improve communication, safety, performance and welfare.

Kerstin is certified as an FN Trainer B in Germany. Her background began in classical German riding and later led her to Équitation Éthologique in France. At the French Andy Booth school, she completed the Savoirs and continued her education with BFEE1 and BFEE2, as well as Horseman Science by Andy Booth.

This path led her to Equitation Science International and to the Diploma of Equitation Science. For Kerstin, Equitation Science offers a clear, evidence-based framework for improving horse-human interaction in daily training, handling and riding.

Today, she teaches clinics, seminars and coaching sessions in France and Germany. She works with riders on the ground and in the saddle, with a special focus on dressage, horse education and rider mindset.

Her interest in rider mindset grew from her own experience as a rider and coach, and from seeing how strongly fear, stress and insecurity can affect both the rider and the horse. She helps riders become more aware, confident and consistent, so their horses can better understand what is being asked.

Kerstin is also the author of Der ethische Reiter / Le Cavalier Éthique, a book about ethical riding, rider responsibility, horse welfare and the connection between mindset, training and a deeper understanding of the horse.
