Bio
Sandra Trott is a Trauma & Attachment Therapist and former equestrian coach with more than fifteen years’ experience working within the Australian horse industry.
Before becoming a therapist, Sandra trained horses, coached riders and studied Equitation Science, developing a deep understanding of behaviour, learning and the relationship between horses and people.
Today her work focuses on supporting the people behind the horses. Sandra provides therapy and professional support for riders, coaches, veterinarians, breeders and others within the equestrian community who are navigating stress, burnout, trauma, attachment, confidence, life transitions and personal growth.
Sandra’s therapeutic approach integrates Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), attachment theory and person-centred counselling. She offers a warm, collaborative space where clients can better understand the patterns shaping their lives, strengthen emotional regulation and create meaningful, lasting change.
Sandra is also available to present talks and workshops for equestrian clubs, veterinary teams and industry organisations. Drawing on both her therapeutic training and extensive equestrian background, she enjoys exploring topics such as stress, confidence, emotional regulation, communication, psychologically safer sporting environments, and the intersection between horse behaviour, human behaviour and trauma-informed practice.
While Sandra no longer offers horse training or riding instruction, her background allows her to understand the unique pressures, culture and relationships that are part of life in the equestrian world.
